HERAT CITY (SW) – An 800-member strong and dedicated force has been developed in western zone of the country to provide security to the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) electoral process.
This force displayed its readiness at a ceremony at the headquarters of the 207-Zafar Corps, and marched through Herat city. Noorullah Qaderi, commander of the 207-Zafar Corps, said on the occasion the aim of the military maneuver was to send out a clear message of full security arrangements to the citizens and improve coordination among the law enforcement agencies.
He said citizens in western zone of the country, Herat, Farah, Ghor and Badghes provinces can vote with ease and peace of mind.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Asif Rahimi, governor of Herat, Juma Khan Adli, commander of the 6060-Ansaar Zone, also underlined the importance of security for the WJ elections. Officials also vowed to stage similar military maneuvers in Farah, Ghor and Badghes provinces to assure people about security.
