KABUL (SW): The Capital Region Independent Development Authority (CRIDA) on Saturday inked a deal with a private firm for the establishment of the Barik-e-Aab Agriculture and Economic Zone in Kabul.
Ilham Omar Hokati, head of CRIDA, said on the occasion the project would attract more than 200 million dollars worth of investment from private sector, and the government would contribute another 15 million dollars. Yama Yari, head of National Procurement Commission, considered the development vital for attracting investment.
According to the officials, the Barik-e-Aab Agriculture and Economic Zone in Kabul would have up to 100 production units, and would provide job opportunities to more than 35,000 citizens. Officials also promised to provide land to investors in this special zone.
