
KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has inked a deal with a private firm aimed at ensuring transparency in tariff collection regime.
The agreement was signed at the Arg (presidential palace) in the presence of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
Based on a Presidential decree, the MoCIT started collecting 10 per cent tax on telecommunication, and so far up to AFN 14.49 billion have been collected.
Following criticism over alleged corruption in this process, the government today inked this agreement. Shahzadgul Aryubi, minister for the MoCIT, said on the occasion this would ensure ‘’Real Time Data Management’’ of the tax collection.
