KABUL/ JALALABAD (SW) – Two separate incidents of fie eruptions in Kabul and Jalalabad claimed at least three lives and inflicted financial losses.
A fire broke out at a fuel station in the capital Kabul’s Abdul Haq square area. The fire also engulfed nearby Kabul Tower housing residential apartments, one hospital and commercial entities.
Haseeb Rahimi, an official at the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, told journalists the fire was caused by an IED attached to a fuel supplying tanker.
In Jalalabad, the fire reportedly caused by an electric short-circuit engulfed a commercial market, Noor Umer Plaza, in the first district of the city. There have been no immediate reports of casualties.
The market was known as wholesale market for cosmetic and jewelry products.
