De Maiwand Attalan and Shaheen Asmayee inch closer to APL finale

KABUL (SW): In two historic initial semi-finals at the Afghan Premier League (APL 2017) played under lights in the night, the De Maiwand Attalan and Shaheen Asmayee have emerged victorious to inch closer to the grand finale.

In its away match, De Maiwand Attalan beat De Spingar Bazan. For the winners, Faiz Mohammad Faiz and national player Amarudin Sharifi scored the decisive goals to seal 2-0 victory. Faiz was celebrated as the man of the match.

Prior to this, in the maiden away semi-final, the defending champion Shaheen Asmaye managed to beat Simurg Alburz 1-0 in a closely contested match. Mustafa Afshar scored the winning goal for his side, but the man of the match title went to Anwar Akbari for his exceptional display of talent with the football.

Next week, finalist would emerge after rounds of home semi-finals. Each set of the two teams would take on each other to make it to the finale.

Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Unity Government (NUG) graced the occasion when the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) organized the historic night-matches under lights. Rest of the matches would also be played in the evening.
