SHEBERGHAN (SW) – Following the surrender of pro-Daesh militants in Jawzjan province, horrific tales of their brutality and persecution have emerged.
A number of minor boys who were with the group when it laid arms last week, said some militant commanders forcefully got ‘married’ with them. One such boy, 14-year-old Abdullah (not real name) said he was constantly sexually and physically abused by a commander. He said the militants rounded-up close to 50 minor boys from Darzaab district and nearby localities for the purpose.
Two residents of the area, Ogul Shah and Abdul Wahid, said the militants assaulted minor boys and girls in the area. They victims’ families are demanding the government to take stern actions against the militants.
Meanwhile, Abdul Hafeez Khashi, head of security at the police headquarters, said the militants have not refrained from any sort of persecutions and crimes against the locals of Darzaab and Qosh Tapa districts.
However, Mawlawi Habibur Rehman, a commander of the Daesh, has claimed ‘conspiracy’ has been launched against them.
