TAKHAR (SW): Residents of district of Darqad in Takhar province told Salam Watandar that ISIS’s flag was raised in the village of Nurkhil today morning. According to them, security forces blocked all the roads leading to this village.

Mohammad Omar, the head of police in Darqad district confirms ISIS presence and flag raising, saying that the flag was raised this morning. Acoording to him, the number of ISIS members in Darqad and Yangi Qala of Takhar reaches 40, and soon the security forces will launch an operation to destroy this group in Takhar.

The commander of police said that those who raised the flag and became the member of Daesh (ISIS) have been Hezb-e Islami (Islamic Party) members before.

A credible source of national security who did not want to be named, confirmed the raising of the black flag in Darqad, but said that it is not clear exactly whether ISIS has recruited members in this area or not.

However, a source within Takhar police said that a week ago a number of ISIS fighters had come to Darqad districts, and it is likely that this move would have begun the activities of this group in Darqad district.

In the meantime, Iraqi forces were reporting the defeat of this group. Mabruk Hamid, the commander of police of Haditha in Iraq said that ISIS has failed in Iraq and are in the last stage to be wind up.
