HERAT CITY (AA): A suicide assault on the Nabi-e-Akram mosque in Herat province on Sunday killed one person and left seven more wounded.
The so-called Islamic State [Daesh] has claimed the attack via their propaganda site Aimaq.
Abdul Ahad Walizada, spokesman for the Afghan National Police (ANP) in Herat, informed two attackers riding a motorcycle were intercepted by security forces. He said one of them detonated his explosives while the other one was gunned down by the police.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Rafiq, spokesman for the main public hospital in the city, informed up to eight people, all civilians got wounded in the latest attack.
