SHEBERGHAN (SW): The Daesh and the Taliban insurgents have taken more than 30 civilians in Jawzjan province.
Aminullah Amin, the district chief of Qosh Tapa, reporting the incident told Salam Watandar that the Daesh and the Taliban groups have abducted 32 civilians in the past 24 hours.
According to him, the Taliban group, having setup a checkpoint in Gardan area of the district, took 20 civilians, who were traveling from Qosh Tapa to Sheberghan city, to an unknown location.
The district chief added that the Daesh rebels also, by setting up a checkpoint in Chaqmachiqor area of the district abducted 12 civilians, who were traveling from Sheberghan city to Darz Aab district.
The chief of Qosh Tapa district said that the Daesh rebels and Taliban insurgents have closed down travel routes to passengers as a result of differences between themselves, warning locals not to travel.
Abdul Hafiz Khashi, the provincial police chief, said that he is unaware of civilian abduction by the insurgents but, added that the route between Qosh Tapa and Darz Aab districts was opened for traffic, on Friday.
Meanwhile, Zabiullah Mujahid, one of the spokesmen for the Taliban, told Salam Watandar that the Taliban are looking into the civilian abductions in Jawzjan. However, the Daesh rebels have not commented to media on the matter yet.
