KABUL (SW) – The Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, the power utility, announced on Tuesday the names of all defaulters would be made public in coming days.
A wide range of influential individuals, politicians and other outlawed individuals and groups have been evading paying their electricity bills.
Chairman DABS, Amanullah Ghalib, told a presser in this connection today that the power utility would expose the names all major defaulters. He said the names, address and business of the defaulters would be shared with the media gradually. He said this strategy helped recover outstanding dues worth AFN 1.6 billion.
Ghalib said an agreement in this connection would be signed with the Attorney General Office in the coming week.
On Tuesday, the DABS signed multiple power sector agreements worth AFN 350 million with various private firms.
