KANDAHAR CITY (SW): Deadly clashes between the Afghan and Pakistani border guards last Friday has displaced up to 1 thousand families in Kandahar’s Spin Boldak district.
Authorities at the provincial chapter of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) have said most of the displaced families have taken refuge in main market of Spin-Boldak, Takhta-Pul, Dand, Daman districts and Kandahar city.
Masoud Ahmad Pashton, director of provincial chapter of the ANDMA, told Salam Watandar many families have taken refuge in Chaman city of Pakistan as well. He added the exact number of the displaced people in Chaman city is not known. “The shelling has damaged at least 80 houses in Spin-Boldak”, informed Pashton.
The clashes erupted on last Friday when Pakistani forces wish to conduct population census inside Afghanistan across the Durand Line.
