NEW DELHI (SW): Afghanistan’s national cricket squad departed for Europe on Monday to take on Scotland, Ireland and Netherland next month.
The team left for Europe after a two-week training camp in India. The squad was accompanied by the new head coach Lalchandar Rajput, and assistant coached Raees Ahmadzai and Dawlat Ahmadzai. Fareed Hotak, spokesman for the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) told Salam Watandar that the in the first phase, the team selected for the One Day International (ODI) matches has embarked on the journey.
Two separate set of teams have been announced for the One Day Internationals (ODIs) and the four-day matches. Afghanistan would play two ODIs against Scotland on July 4 and 6. Afterwards, the Afghans would take on Ireland for an ODI on July 10. The tour would end with a four-day match against the Netherlands as part of the Inter-continental Cup on August 01.
The ACB has announced that the matches would be live-streamed and local TV channels can air them.
