KABUL (SW): Up to 300 small and medium enterprises are operating across Afghanistan, the Customs and Revenue Department (CRD) informed.
Abdul Habib Zadran, head of the CRD at the Ministry of Finance, informed Salam Watandar the large enterprises have paid AFN 9.6 billion worth of taxes in the first five months of the current fiscal year. He informed this made up to 22 per cent of the total GDP.
The CRD officials informed tax evaders can clear their outstanding dues by paying 5 per cent of the outstanding taxes. As per the MoF regulations, enterprises worth AFN 300 million of annual turnout are considered as large tax payers.
