KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Public Health said on Monday that in the last 24 hours, out of 858 samples taken from people suspected of having coronavirus, the results of 408 proved positive.
The new cases have been recorded in 18 provinces, with Kabul having the highest number of 162 cases.
Waheed Majrouh, the ministry's deputy for health services, said that with the new figure, the number of people living with Covid-19 across the country has risen to 7,072.
According to him, 162 people in Kabul, 95 people in Herat, 31 people in Balkh, 20 people in Takhar, 19 people in Khost, 18 people in Parwan and 15 people in Paktia were infected with the coronavirus in past 24 hours.
Similarly, 8 people in Maidan Wardak, 7 people in Logar, 6 people in Baghlan, five people in Daikundi and Ghor, four people in Kunar and Paktika, 3 people in Kunduz, 3 people in Panjshir, 2 people in Kapisa and one person in Laghman got infected with coronavirus.
Last night, three patients died and 32 were treated. A total of 801 patients with coronavirus have been cured so far, and 173 patients have died, according to the Ministry of Public Health.
The number of people living with Covid -19 in the world has reached to more than 4.8 million, of which more than 316,000 have died and more than 1.858 million have been treated.
