KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Public Health said on Saturday that in the past 24 hours, out of 529 samples taken from people suspected of having the coronavirus, the results of the 253 people proved positive.
Wahid Majrouh, deputy minister for health services, told a news conference that among the latest confirmed cases 71 were from Herat, 43 in Balkh, 39 in Nangarhar, 24 in Takhar, 22 in Jawzjan and 16 in Paktia.
Similarly, 11 people got the infection in Kunduz, 11 in Laghman, eight in Ghazni, four in Kabul and one each in Nuristan, Kunar, Panjshir and Bamyan provinces.
Majrooh added that six patients died and 29 recovered in the past 24 hours.
With the registration of these new cases, the total number of cases across the country have reached to 4033. So far, 115 people have died from coronavirus and another 502 have recovered. At least 392 health workers have also been infected so far.
