PUL-I-ALAM (SW): In an extrajudicial execution, the Taliban have shot a man and a woman dead over alleged adultery in Logar province.
Residents have said the Taliban publicly executed the couple on Saturday in Aab-Bazak area of Mohmmad Agha district for allegedly having extramarital affair. A number of residents have acknowledged both were having extramarital affair. Salim Saleh, provincial governor’s spokesman, confirmed the public execution of the couple in Aab-Bazak area. “So far, the incident is not clear, but police have started investigation into the matter”, informed Saleh.
The Taliban have confirmed the execution, and have said the couple were killed for having extra marital affair after for which a Taliban court passed the judgment of capital punishment.
