KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Public Works on Tuesday approved contracts worth AFN 130 million for the reconstruction of Salang Highway and a bridge in the Takhar province.
Yama Yari, minister for the MoPW, said on the occasion the 10 km long stretch of the Salang Highway would be reconstructed with funds worth AFN 123 million. He added a 30 meter long bridge would be constructed in the Ashkmash district in Takhar province with the funds worth AFN 8 million.
He promised these projects would be completed before the arrival of winter.
According to the MoPW officials, the project of reconstructing the second phase of the Salang Highway is in the process of procurement.
