MAZAR-E-SHARIF (SW): Artists in northern Balkh province has showcased a graffiti show “Colors of Trust” in the capital city Mazar-e-Sharif.
Officials at the local civil society organization, EPSO that organized the show said that the message of the show was to convey trust and tolerance. Mohammad Reza Mohammadi, one of the organizers of the show, said that the show was the first serious work in terms of graffiti in Balkh.
He said that the graffiti was aimed at conveying trust in a society, which has been immersed into chaos and lack of trust.
The show which was accompanied by guitar melodies was participated by both girls and boys who reflected their thoughts and ideas on the walls.
Sayed Mahdi Niazi, a painter and graffiti artist, said that graffiti was growing as a need and people could understand the importance of such art but unfortunately it has not found its significant place in the society and there is a long way to go.
Mohammad Sharif, one of the participants, said that graffiti is an interesting art and they could speak with every passer-by. Graffiti is a new phenomenon in Afghanistan and has attracted the youth.
