MAZAR-E-SHARIF (SW): Leaders of Coalition for the Rescue of Afghanistan (CRA) in gathering on Tuesday in Mazar-e-Sharif said that Arg (Presidential Palace) has concentrated power to few persons.
The Leaders of ARC warned if Arg does not bring reforms, the government cannot continue to function.
Atta Mohammad Noor, the governor of Balkh and one of the leaders of Coalition for the Rescue of Afghanistan, told the gathering that the National Unity Government (NUG) has not full filled its promises, therefore, the ARC has been formed to get the government to right track. Noor blamed the Arg for ethnic prejudice and said the practice has caused dozens of Afghans lose their lives on daily basis.
“Unless the government takes away the monopoly of power from the hands of few persons, you cannot have one and a half or two years of solidification in the government”, warned Noor. Atta Mohammad Noor also highlighted in his speech issues of corruption by the procurement authorities and urged the international community not to waste aid funds.
Mohammad Mohaqiq, the 2nd Vice President (VP) to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the country and one of the leaders of the Coalition, also blamed Arg for monopolizing power and said in the beginning of the NUG, the leaders used to deliberate on matters with Abdullah Abdullah’s team, but lately no such consultations have happened. The 2nd VP to the CEO urged the international community not to interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan. He also warned the government not to prevent Abdul Rashid Dostum, the 1st Vice President to the President, from re-entering the country.
Salam Watandar wished to have Arg’s views on the matter, but to no avail.
Almost a month ago, Abdul Rashid Dostum, the 1st VP to the President and the leader of Junbish party along with Mohammad Mohaqiq, 2nd VP to CEO and the leader of Wahadat party and Atta Mohammad Noor, the governor of Balkh and leader of Jamiat party incepted the Coalition for the Rescue of Afghanistan in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.
