09/07/2019

PUL-E-KHUMRI (SW) – Seven members of a single family were killed in an air raid by the pro-government forces in Baghlan province, a well-placed source told Salam Watandar.

The incident took place in the Kutub Khail area of the central Pul-i-Khumri city. The Wolesi Jirga (lower house) member from Baghlan, Assadullah Shahbaz, said a woman with her six children got killed in this air raid that also injured her husband. He vowed investigations have begun into the attack.

The Baghlan MP added this incident took place after the Taliban stormed security check posts in the Homa area. The over-night raids resulted in three check posts falling to the Taliban.

The protesting relatives of the victims blocked the Baghlan – Kunduz highway while demanding investigations and justice.

Security officials in Baghlan declined to comment.
