KABUL (SW): Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Unity Government (NUG) has arrived in Russia to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization's (SCO) Council of the Heads of Government (CHG) meeting in Sochi.
CEO Abdullah held meetings with leaders from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China and Tajikistan. He is attending the meeting on official invitation from the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Regional security scenario, including situations in the Gulf and Afghanistan are likely to be discussed in this meeting.
In June, India and Pakistan had become full-fledged members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). At present, the SCO comprises eight member states (Pakistan, China, Russia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan), four observer nations (Iran, Afghanistan, Belarus, and Mongolia), and six dialogue partners (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Turkey).
