KABUL (SW) – Following appointments of a number of officials at the foreign ministry by President Ashraf Ghani, his rival presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah vowed not to tolerate such 'unilateral decisions'.
The Chief Executive warned that unless the president stops such moves, serious action will be taken on the basis of the law and the document that led to the establishment of the National Unity Government. He said these moves have disrupted the structure of the system and weakened institutions.
He went on to say the president's plans for peace and governance have led to increased military casualties, widespread corruption and instability in the country.
At the meeting, Abdullah Abdullah's electoral allies asked him to stand against President Ghani's moves. They also criticized President Ghani's actions and urged Abdallah to take parallel steps.
We also wanted to have a presidential perspective on what the CEO said, but we could not.
