KABUL (SW) – The Stability and Partnership electoral team led by Abdullah Abdullah has demanded fair count of each and every ballot box ahead of the recount process.
The proposed vice president of this team, Assadullah Sadati, said this at a moot here on Friday. He added that the void and legitimate votes should be separated from the total number of votes added to the central database so far.
He demanded the estimated 300,000 votes allegedly balloted without the due process should be declared void. Sadati stressed the Stability and Partnership team would not allow a single void vote to be added to the tally.
This comes as a number of presidential candidates, including Abdullah Abdullah, Rehmatullah Nabil and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar have criticized the recount of votes. The Independnet Election Commission halted the recount drive amid concerns raised in this connection.
