KABUL (SW) – The cabinet has approved a plan by the Ministry of Higher Education to reopen public and private universities on Wednesday.
Sediq Seddiqi, the president's spokesman, told a news conference on Wednesday that the cabinet has instructed relevant offices to follow all health guidelines set by the Ministry of Health, such as social distancing and wearing masks at universities.
He added that the proposed plan by the Ministry of Education for the reopening of schools was not approved in the cabinet meeting and it directed the ministry to present another plan for the reopening of schools.
The academic institutions were closed down in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
