KABUL (SW): The spate of violence continues to haunt the Afghan capital as a suicide car bombing claimed five more lives on Monday when it struck the security check post at the Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport on Monday.
Initial reports suggest some 15 people got wounded in the attack. Earlier, Kabul witnessed three major attacks on Friday as the militants hit an army complex, a police academy and a United States Special Forces base, killing at least 51 people.
Afghan analysts believe the sudden surge in violence indicates Mullah Mansoor, the new Taliban leader wants to distract attention away from the split among Taliban ranks over his appointment.
