KABUL (SW): Two days after Kabul witnessed bloodbath in its southern neighborhood, a group of young civil society activists distributed books and roses on the city streets to portray a softer image of the city.
Laila Jaffary, director of human rights studies institute for Afghanistan, was one of those who took part in this activity. She said this practice would help promote the culture of book reading, tolerance and harmony.
Barish Sarwary, another activist, expressed peace in the country is not impossible, if all citizens of the country strive for it together.
The books were collected and distributed with the help of local publishers and culture houses. According to the organizers, as many as 2 thousand more books and roses would be distributed in the city on Friday.
