‘Bodies of fallen soldiers laying in Uruzgan’

TARINKOT (SW) – The Taliban rebels have inflicted death upon scores of soldiers in Uruzgan province following days of deadly assaults on a military base in Chinarto district.

Well-placed sources informed Salam Watandar bodies of up to 33 soldiers are laying under scorching Sun in the deserted and destroyed military base. Local officials claim higher-up were warned against the deadly assault days ago, but no measures were ensured to avoid the casualties.

Claiming credit for the assault, the Taliban vowed to have killed more than 50 soldiers here.

However, provincial police chief, Mohammad Maroof Ahmadzai, has only acknowledged killing of three soldiers and 11 rebels.

 According to reports, the Taliban’s lethal ‘red unit’ was involved in this attack. They rebels are also aiming to dismantle the telecommunication network.
