LASHKARGAH (SW) – An explosion at the office of a Wolesi Jirga (lower house) candidate in Helmand on Tuesday caused casualties.
The locals informed Salam Watandar the blast took place at the electoral office of Saleh Mohammad Achakzai.
Umar Zwak, spokesman for the governor, confirmed eight people got killed in the attack. Credable sources claim the candidate is among those killed.
Abdul Salam Afghan, spokesman for the police headquarters, has confirmed the incident. Without sharing the details, he said the blast has caused casualties.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. This follows similar blasts in Khost, Nangarhar and Kabul in connection with the upcoming polls.
