KABUL (SW): Bilal Arzo, former striker of the Afghan national football squad has expressed optimism about his return to the national team.
In an exclusive interview with Salam Watandar, Bilal said that he was always ready to serve his nation and would render all of his services for the cause. He was part of the six-member group of national players under the leadership of the then captain Islamuddin Amiri who resigned in protest from the team in the year 2015 after a game against Kyrgyzstan.
Last month, Amiri also made a comeback but was faced with opposition from some players and former head coach Segrt Petar, the Croatian-born German coach and former football defender.
Bilal is the leading goal scorer for Afghanistan with a total of nine goals in 27 national games he played for Afghanistan since 2011. He was part of the 2013 team that lifted the title of South Asian Championship. Born in Kabul, Bilal is currently living in Norway. He has been playing professional football since 2004.
