KABUL (SW): Top Afghan officials and administration of the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) on Saturday oversaw opening ceremony of the Bayat Institute of Technology here.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kenneth M. Holland, President of the AUAF, said the newly inaugurated Bayat Institute of Technology would prove handy in lifting technical skills of the students. He said 15 students referred by the Bayat Foundation would receive scholarships here on annual basis, and the AUAF would generate $ 100,000 to support the Bayat Institute of Technology.
Head of the Bayat Foundation, Ehsanullah Bayat, said on his term students at this facility would be provided with avenues to research in the fields of science and technology. He announced a grant of a million dollar for the AUAF.
Government officials hailed the move by the Bayat Foundation towards spreading quality technical education in the country.
