SHEBERGHAN (SW): An armed bandit has killed a mother and her son in Jawzjan province, an official said on Sunday.
The incident said to have taken place in the Sakhi Abad area of the province. Syed Mohammad Raza, spokesman for the provincial governor, told Salam Watandar three armed bandits entered a home for burglary, but were resisted by the owner of the house who shot two of them dead. He added the remaining one bandit attacked the woman and her child with knife. The two succumbed to the wounds later. The bandit is said to be arrested by the police.
In another incident, a man in Herat province has first stabbed his wife to death and then committed suicide. Abdul Ahad Walizada, spokesman for the police, told Salam Watandar motives behind the incident are not known yet. The couple has left two children behind.
