KABUL (SW) – The Tuesday morning's deadly terrorist attacks on a hospital in Kabul and funeral prayers in Nangarhar have been dubbed as a crime against humanity, unforgettable and unforgivable.
A foreign charity-run maternity hospital in the Dasht-e-Barchi came under armed assault following multiple loud explosions, an official statement confirmed.
The Interior Ministry said armed assailants stormed the Doctors Without Borders maternity hospital in Dasht-e-Barchi area at around 10 a.m. At least 14 civilians were killed and many more wounded while 100 people rescued from the attack, the ministry said.
The MSF confirmed that assailants have attacked a hospital it supports in Kabul. "We are aware of the ongoing attack in MSF-supported Dashti-e-Barchi hospital in Kabul. Afghan forces are on the scene, our priority is the safety of our patients and staff", it said in a statement.
The attacks have been vehemently condemned by the Afghan government officials and the international community.
Abdullah Abdullah dubbed it as a war crime while Waheed Umer, director strategic communications for President Ashraf Ghani labelled it as an unforgettable and unforgivable.
