KABUL (SW) – The Afghanistan Telecommunication Regulatory Authority has directed telecom service providers to control their price regimes amid ongoing campaign in this regard.
Mohammad Najib Azizi, head of ATRA, told a presser in this connection that the telecom firms have no rights from now onwards to reactivate any subscription package upon expiry without the consent of the customers. He said the telecom firms have no right to charge on their own fee for internet without the consent and approval of the customers.
ATRA warned telecom firms would be fined if they did not obey with these regulations.
About the slow internet speed, head of ATRA said the telecom firms are bound by the license regulations to provide services in line with the pledges made. ATRA directed telecom firms to educate and inform clients about the deactivation of packages just like they do for activation of these packages.
ATRA officials promised to technically study all demands made in the intense campaign against the telecommunication firms’ alleged hidden costs and tariffs.
