JALALABAD (SW): Mohammad Hanif Atmar, the National Security Advisor on Wednesday charged Pakistan for supporting pro-Daesh rebels in Afghanistan.

He said this while addressing a presser in Jalalabad, the provincial capital of eastern Nangarhar province that has been worst hit by pro-Daesh rebels. Atmar visited the province to have a firsthand knowledge of the state of affairs. He said in his remarks that Pakistan uses these rebels to destabilize Afghanistan.

“They (militants) came from Pakistan and have Pakistani identity documents, they have been joined by the Central Asian and Arab militants”, he said.

Atmar went on to say that the number of pro-Daesh rebels in Afghanistan is on decline coming down from thousands to hundreds only.

The National Security Advisor vowed to eliminate the pro-Daesh rebels from Kot district and rest of the country.

Touching upon the issue of the Durand Line with Pakistan, the National Security Advisor said no compromise would be made in this regard. (We have made it clear upon them (Pakistani officials) that never ever dream of an Afghanistan that would comprise upon this evil line (Durand Line) drawn on the heart of our nation), he said.

Atmar rejected the reports about peace talks with Hezb-i-Islami falling apart. He noted progress has been made in talks with this group but minor differences remain that would be resolved soon.
