MAIDAN (SW): A reliable source in Jalriz district in Maidan Wardak province, who did not wish to be named, told Salam Watandar that armed men kidnapped five passengers in Mullah Kheyl area yesterday evening.
He said that one of the kidnapped passengers was soon released but the remaining four passengers have been taken to an unknown location.
Abdul Rahman Mangal, spokesman for the governor in the province, told Salam Watandar that two students from Kabul University are also among those who have been kidnapped.
He added that tribal elders in Jalriz district have assured that they would do their best to mediate and release the passengers.
It is worth noting that armed men kidnapped 12 men from Daimirdad district in Maidan Wardak on Sunday.
