KABUL (SW) – The Afghan Red Crescent Society has treated 1742 children with complex heart pierced diseases in the past one year, an official announced on Wednesday.
Neelab Mubarez, secretary general of the ARCS, told a moot in this connection that the number of such patients has surged by 60 per cent. She said the number of health facilities to provide treatment for such diseases has also surged from four to nine.
The ARCS secretary general further said at least 14882 HIV patients have also been provided with treatment in the past one year. Sharing statistics about the operations of the society, she said 576 bodies of the security forces and 538 bodies of the insurgents from the battlefield have been delivered to their respective families in the past one year.
Since the establishment of the ARCS in 1934, the health service department of this society claims to have delivered the basic health services in the fields of first aid and health centers and gradually to mother and child care.
