KABUL (SW): The Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) are fully ready and capable to thwart any militant attack in the country, officials said on Monday.
Gen. Dowlat Wazeeri, spokesperson for Ministry of Defense and Sidiq Sidiqi, Spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said this while addressing a joint press conference here.
Wazeeri noted that the ANSF are carrying out up to six night raids against the rebels on daily basis. Pronouncing these offensives as successful and result oriented, he stressed that the people’s help and support is crucial in this regard. These operations backed by the people have had positive result so far, Wazeeri added.
On the other hand, Sidiq Sidiqi said that the Afghan National Police (ANP) together with the Afghan National Army (ANA) has operated successfully in various restive areas and have killed a number of Taliban commanders. He noted that out of all 34 provinces, Helmand stands out in terms of Taliban’s mounting attacks and insurgency.
