LASHKARGAH CITY (SW): Abdul Jabar Qahrman, President’s especial envoy in Helmand told Salam Watandar that Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) backed by NATO forces are trying to bring peace to Helmand province.
Qahrman stated that NATO’s Resolute Support Mission forces are backing up the Afghan National Security Forces to restore peace in Helmand.
This comes while, a number of citizens in Helmand province said that to bring peace, the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) should target Taliban’s safe haven in the province. These citizens notified that the Taliban have strong presence in some parts of the province and they are potential threat to civilians’ lives.
While NATO’s Resolute Support Mission forces are in Helmand to support ANSFs, the province capital Lashkarga city is not safe.
Intense fighting in the province has forced hundreds of the citizens to flee and take refuge in the neighboring provinces.
Taliban’s assaults on various provinces sprang up after the Afghan and American authorities charged the Pakistani government for backing the Taliban.
