KABUL (SW): The Afghanistan National Standard Authority (ANSA) has launched the country’s first certified quality mark for the domestic products.
Before the launch of this mark, a number of export items would enter the international markets without Afghanistan’s certified standard mark instead the Afghan traders used to complain that the neighboring countries place their bench marks on Afghanistan’s products.
Naqibullah Faiq, head of the National Department of Norm and Standard said on the occasion that due to the lack of such trademark in the past, the Afghan businessmen were not able to compete in the international market.
Pronounced as “ansa”, (Afghanistan National Standard Authority), this standard mark is a certification promising the authenticity of the products manufactured in Afghanistan and in line with certain regulations and standards.
This is designed to ease trading for Afghan businessmen in the international market.
Naqibullah Faiq, in the meantime, stated that 70% of fuel is illegally imported into Afghanistan. He added that petroleum mafia has been importing low-quality fuel that has caused a huge trouble for country.
