Analysts: NUG’s political agreement should be implemented

15/08/2016

KABUL (SW): A number of political analysts have said that the tensions between President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah would only be solved by implementing the NUG’s political agreement. These analysts believe that war, insecurity and foreign interferences are the major reasons behind the non-implementation of the political accord.

Syed Jawad Husaini, a political analyst, told Salam Watandar that it was obvious from the very beginning that National Unity Government’s leaders would not be able to fulfill their pledges. He emphasized that to end the current tensions, the leaders should implement the political agreement.

He stated that certain circle close to President Ghani try to impede the implementation of NUG’s political agreement.

Is’haq Atmar, another political analyst, said that the NUG’s leaders are committed to put into practice the political agreement but they have failed to do so due to conflicts and growing insecurity in the country.

He noted that the two sides should do their best to implement the political agreement as soon as possible.

Moen Marastiyal, a political analyst, said that both the President and the Chief Executive Officer are accountable for the non-implementation of the political agreement. He said that if the NUG’s leaders did not implement it, the country would sink into further crisis.

The CEO met with the influential and political figures on Sunday at Sapidar Palace and he also urged upon the implementation of the political agreement.
