KUNDUZ CITY (SW): Dozens of Afghan Local Police (ALP) officers and local commanders have encroached upon green zone area of Sardawra Township in Kunduz city.
Some of these ALP officers on conditions of anonymity accepting the allegations of land grasping justified that they grabbed these lands for not having shelter and presence of Taliban insurgents in their villages.
Abdul Rahman, an ALP officer in Chardara district of the province, stated that his house has been taken by the Taliban and he does not have shelter.
Assadullah Omarkhail, the governor of Kunduz, warned the ALP officers and local commanders to stop construction work. He added that no one even local police has any right to grab land.
The Sardara Township of Kunduz city is considered a safe area in police district 5 of Kunduz city, therefore, it is attractive for land usurpers.
