KABUL (SW): Organizers of the 'Afghan Premier League' have finally announced the full and final list of teams and players for this unique and largely followed football championship in Afghanistan.

The 2017 Afghan Premier League (APL) central zone regional tournament (Road to 2017 APL) for selecting the top 21 players of Oqaban Hindukosh took place from 16 July to 20 July, 2017 in Panjshir’s Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim Stadium. Kapisa, Bamyan, Parwan, Daikondi, Panjshir, and Jawanan-e-Panjshir were the six participating teams in this tournament.

Two days ago, final line-up for the De Abasin Sape was announced.

The 2017 Afghan Premier League (APL) southeast zone regional tournament (Road to 2017 APL) was kicked-off from July 16 to July 20, 2017 at Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) stadium, Kabul. Khost “A”, Logar, Paktia, Paktika, Ghazni, Khost “B”, and Maidan Wardak were the seven competing teams in this enthralling tournament.

According to the official site of the games, FIFA and AFC-licensed coaches of Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) supervised the games and performance of each player to select the brilliant and talented faces for both the teams. 21 selectees for each team will play in the APL main event later in Kabul next month. The tournament has been delayed for two weeks for unknown reasons.

Despite of struggles and changes made to the teams in the fifth season, both Oqaban Hindukosh and De Abasin Sape have not been able to manage any remarkable accomplishment in the APL so far. With new and motivated players this year, the teams plan to make a strong comeback, noted the APL statement.

Prior to the latest announcements, the APL announced teams for the defending champion Shaheen Asmayee, and Spinghar Bazan, De Maiwand Atalan, Mawjhai Amu, Simorgh Alburz and Toofan Harirod.
