KABUL (SW) – Rahmatullah Nabil, a candidate for the presidency, claimed on Thursday all funds from the national budget’s Code 91 have been spent on presidential campaigns.
Addressing a presser at his party office, Nabil said a number of corrupt individuals have been released during the election campaign. Referring to the release of Khalilullah Firoozi, a former Kabul Bank shareholder, he said Firoozi was released based on a ‘deal’.
Nabil claimed to possess documented proof to back his claims. He added that the country is currently facing a deadlock and that the government cannot reach an agreement on a negotiating body for peace talks.
The presidential candidate said he will propose a "transitional government" if the election commission fails to separate the clean vote from the void ones for the preliminary results. Nabil said an impartial person should head this sort of government as a way out of the crisis.
Nabil also urged the presidential candidates and politicians in the country to be ready for sacrifices in connection with the election.
Salam Watandar wished to have the views of the Presidency, but deputy spokesman for the presidency, Latif Mahmoud, declined to comment.
