SHEBERGHAN (SW) – Local sources in Jawzjan province reported that seven civilians were killed in an airstrike by government forces in the province.
A well-known local source in Jawzjan, who did not want to be named, told Salam Watandar that security forces bombed three residential houses in the village of Jangl Arigh in Mardian district of the province last night (Wednesday, May 20).
Two women, a man and four children were killed and three others were injured in the incident, according to the source.
The source added that members of the victims' families called on security and local officials in Jawzjan to clarify the attack.
But Mohammad Hanif Rezaei, a spokesman for the 209th Shaheen Corps, denied that civilians were killed in the attack in Mardian district.
