KABUL (SW) – Jamshed Rasuli, spokesman for the Attorney General Office, said on Sunday that a total of 191 complaints in connection with the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) polls have been resolved so far.
Addressing a presser here, he said 35 of these complaints were from the Kabul province while rest of the 156 complaints were from other provinces. He said 495 accused have been taken into custody over charges of election related crimes.
Last year’s WJ election were marred by irregularities and rampant complaints of rigging. Even after the announcement of final results, the protest demonstrations in this regard continue.
