LASHKARGAH (SW): Commercial flights resumed at the Helmand airport on Monday a year after air traffic was halted due to insecurity.
Mohammad Omar, the director of Helmand's airport, cited insecurity for the delay of private airlines’ flights to the airport. “Meteorological system is also installed at the airport and privately owned airline companies can fly their air crafts without any concern”, assured Omar.
Helmund's passengers are also pleased and said they have been struggling with many problems of traveling.
The flights to Helmand airport resumed after Nawa district was cleared from the Taliban on Sunday.
