According to Atiqullah Nusrat, the head of the executive board at ACCI, with the opening of Afghanistan-India air corridor, ten flights have delivered more than 700 tons of fresh fruit worth 9 million dollars to India. He informed that agricultural products such as fresh and dry fruits and vegetables make up to 70 percent of the exports.
“Lack of facilities for controlling the quality of export goods, lack of processing facilities and standard packaging, lack of standardized refrigerated warehouses, high capacity equipment and lack of trade attaches in foreign markets are considered to be major problems in the export process of Afghanistan”, complained Nusrat.
Manizha Wafiq, the chairwoman of ACCI, said at the gathering that women are trying to be more active in the export business.
The ACCI reported an increase in exports as the country is more import dependent. Economic experts believe that increase of exports indicate dependency and growth.
