KABUL (SW): Afghanistan will face Japan on Thursday in the qualification matches for the World Cup 2018 Russia and Asian Championship 2019 in Dubai.
The match will kick-off in Saitama Stadium in Tokyo, the capital city of Japan.
Japan is one of the top teams in Asia and the world, and has the experience of playing in the world cup several times.
According to some report released by Afghanistan Football Association (AFA), the team after spending a week’s training session in Qatar, has left for Japan.
AFA has said that six players who did not take part in the training sessions in Qatar but yet have been called in the squad to face Japan.
The away match between Afgahnistan and Japan was played in Iran in which Afghanistan was defeated 6-0.
It is said that five players of the AFF received yellow cards back then and the team should approach this match with caution or will miss the match against Singapore on 29 March 2016 in Iran.
Afghanistan is tipped to have no chance to qualify for the World Cup 2018 since it failed to win a spot above the fourth in the qualification matches for the World Cup. Still, if Afghanistan beats Singapore it will qualify for the Asian Championship 2019 in Dubai, which will be a good achievement.
