Afghanistan thrashes Ireland in India in first ODI

KABUL (SW) – Afghanistan defeated Ireland by 5 wickets in the maiden ODI match of the five-match series at Dehra Dun, India.

Ireland captain William Porterfield won the toss and opted to bat in the first ODI in Dehradun. Asghar Afghan, meanwhile, said that he was expecting dew later on and would have preferred to bowl first anyway.

The two sides faced each other in 20 ODIs before today’s game with each side wining ten of them.
