Afghanistan shines at Asian-European Karate Championship

KABUL(SW): The Afghanistan karate national team, Ashihara won second place in Asian – European Championship, winning seven gold medals and two bronze medals.

Arif Paiman, Director of Press Office of the country’s bodybuilding, in an interview with Salamwatandar said, this tournament was hosted in Kazakhstan in the presence of 14 Asian and European on October 20 which lasted four days.

According to Mr. Paiman, male and female athletes competed in different sports and Kazakhstan got the first position, Afghanistan was at the second position and Russian Federation finished third. He said Abdul Shakir Hamidi was named the best athlete among the 14 athletes.

The eight round of the national competition began today with 200 athletes from 16 provinces in Kabul Gymnasium and will last for two days.
